The purpose of this module is to teach health care providers about implicit associations, introduce a valid assessment tool to measure implicit associations, as well as provide evidence-based activities that care providers can practice to alter any implicit associations they may hold regarding LGBTQ clients.

The following learning outcomes guide the content of the Implicit Association and LGBTQ Healthcare e-learning module. By the end of the module, learners should be able to:

  • Describe implicit associations.
  • Describe the ways in which implicit association can affect clients' healthcare.
  • Describe strategies to change implicit associations.
